vs. palestine

anti-fascist palestinian children
the perpetuation of the "bibi vs. barack" narrative of the zionist/palestinian conflict in the american media constitutes the wholesale erasure of the plight of the palestinians themselves from our national political discourse. this is not surprising given the fact that both the "67 borders" plan of obama's proto-fascist  government and the "let us just kill all these barbaric arabs" plan of netanyahu's fascist government also give no attention to what is right and proper for the palestinians themselves, that is, what is just. this is not surprising given the implications, or rather the politics behind, the conception of world history obama presented in his speech last week. Among his numerous fascist pronouncements:
In the face of these challenges, too many leaders in the region tried to direct their people’s grievances elsewhere.  The West was blamed as the source of all ills, a half-century after the end of colonialism.  Antagonism toward Israel became the only acceptable outlet for political expression.  Divisions  of tribe, ethnicity and religious sect were manipulated as a means of holding  on to power, or taking it away from somebody else.
obama absolves the west, both the massive institution of historical oppression and his very government that supported (continues to support) the region's many autocrats. orientalist tropes and political ironies litter the speech, including the predictable omission of saudi arabia from any discussion of "human rights" -- or at all for that matter. obama's speech today at aipac is noticeably more fascist of course for the president of the united states is more accountable to the interests of a wealthy foreign lobbying group than to the american or world public that watched last week's speech. the aipac speech ends, "thank you. god bless israel, and god bless the united states of america. (applause.) thank you." i certainly cannot imagine obama ending a speech "god bless the united kingdom" much less the surrealist, "god bless the palestinians."
